Other Considerations
The most important aspect of image capture is ensuring that your images are consistent across all visits. This consistency allows for accurate comparisons between images taken at different time points and reliable image capture scoring.
Please keep in mind the following recommendations:
- Clothing: Participants should take photos wearing as little clothing as possible to ensure maximum visibility of the skin. If any clothing is worn, it must not cover any lesions and must be as tight-fitting as possible. Loose or wide clothing must not be used under any circumstances, as it can hide or distort the appearance of the skin.
- High collars: Avoid wearing clothing with high collars that might obscure the neck or body areas relevant for image capture.
- Facial hair: If you have a beard, we highly recommend keeping it consistent throughout the study to minimize variability between visits.
- Hats and headwear: Remove any hats, caps, turbans, or other forms of head coverings before taking your photos.
- Hairstyles: Do not style your hair in ways that cover areas of psoriasis involvement (e.g., combing strands to cover affected areas or using hair extensions, wigs, or hairpieces).
- Hair accessories: Avoid wearing pins, beads, clips, or decorative items that might obscure the skin.
- Other accessories: Remove headbands, tiaras, and similar accessories to ensure your skin is clearly visible.
Maintaining consistency in your appearance and the image capture process is essential for accurate image capture monitoring throughout the study. For example, if you have facial hair at the start of the study, keep the same style for all visits to ensure optimal comparability between images.
